these are target sticks, yet they're advertising themselves as sticks to beat dogs with. i was going to buy them until i saw the reviews and slides. You should NOT hit your dog to correct behaviors. fear works, yes. but it it's unethical and immoral to hit your dog for a behavior you failed to teach them to replace or a behavior that is natural to that breed/dog.Hitting your dog is abuse - unless a dog is attacking you there is zero reason to cause your dog fear and potential pain if not discomfort. fear-based training is not science-based. this is the exact logic people use to hit children and as a result have children who struggle emotionally or mentally in life - the same is proven to happen with animals.

This is a set of two training stick meant for helping correct dog behavior. They are just the right length and the wrist strap is a bonus. The ends aren't solid or overly hard, they have a bit of give to them. Great for giving a little tap reminding our pup that toes aren't for biting. Also makes a loud smacking noise when used on my skin, really grabs a distracted pups attention.

These are well made and get my dog's attention, but they think I'm playing with them! They are sized right - big enough to get their attention, but light enough to do no harm. I sometimes use this when training them by putting peanut butter on it and using it as a lure. I have short dogs, so it saves my back a little! They work as attention getters to help my dogs concentrate.
