The bottom base is too light allowing the post to tip over while securing my boat cover. The top base is cheap plastic and already warped.

The poles collapse they don’t stay up. They also fall apart. The glue or sticky tape that holds each section together came apart on both poles. This happened after using them two times, they didn’t even last a month.

The poles were adjustable, but they would never stay put when putting the boat cover on Seems like that if the base were heavier, they might. So, after I got the cover on, I crawled inside to position both poles underneath. Then, by crawling out, one of the poles would tip over. So, I had to crawl back inside again to stand a pole upright. They did kinda work, but are a pain in the a**.

The main problems with these poles are that the pole comes out of the base every time you move the pole. We are going to glue them in somehow to correct this. The other problem is that they are so lightweight that they blow over if wind lifts the boat cover even a bit. We plan to try to weight the bottoms to make them more stable. We do like the rounded tops, which reduces chance of puncture of canvas cover.

Used for boat cover, it was very easy to use while the cover was on and near stretched, have no slack and should work very well.

Struggling with covers that allow rain water to pond, is not much fun.The boat cover struts I purchased earlier did not meet my needs, either the pole is not strong enough to be crushed, or the base is too small and slips couldn't support my boat cover.Until I bought Zenicham boat hood support rods, the aluminum pole is very strong and has a good load bearing capacity, the large base of 9ins makes the pole very stable, very good design. After a rainy day, there is no more water on my boat cover.I highly recommend them.
