Ordered these to have on hand for the rare occasions that I need a mallet for household projects. The larger mallet has a non-replaceable head with the handle being made of plastic, and an effective grip made of soft plastic or possibly synthetic rubber. I really like that the handle diameter is in line with the mallet size and fits well in adult hands. The smaller mallet has two replaceable "faces" (they screw into the head), a metal handle, covered with a hard rubber grip. The two faces are different colors but I could not perceive a big difference in hardness. The handle diameter is much smaller but is still in line with what you would expect with the mallet size and intended usage. There is a rubber ring where the handle meets the mallet head that looks decorative but has no function that adds the mallet. I personally would not drive nails with either face as shown in the product illustration.I do not know where the fiberglass is used in either mallet as mentioned in the product title unless it used under the plastic layer in the larger mallet. Both mallets should work well around the house, but I am not sure how they would hold up in an industrial setting. They certainly provide good value for the price. So if you are looking for an affordable pair of mallets, used primarily in a residential setting, this set is a good choice.

Recently retired my 20 year old rubber mallet and haven't seen my plastic headed hammer in decades so I ordered this affordable set to beef up my tool inventory. The listing says the rubber mallet is 16oz and shows a picture of a carpenter using the smaller hammer to drive nails. Huh. Well no one is gonna be pounding nails with either of these Thor like tools and the mallet is actually 1.8 lbs which is awesome. Almost double what the ad says is not a problem for me! The construction is solid-I tried to untwist the handles to no avail and bright orange will make the big one stand out in my hammer drawer.I give high marks for this set of pounders!

If you've ever used make shift padding when hammering soft surfaces like furniture or just to avoid leaving dents, this rubber mallet set is made for you. The 16oz mallet provides substantial hammering weight but has a soft head too avoid damage, while its carbon fiber handle is strong and light and allows the weight to be focused on the head. The smaller double headed mallet is perfect for arts and crafts, and something even my younger kids can use, with supervision, and helps them build confidence and skills around tools. I wish I had these when I was putting together a bunch of metal shelves that requireda lot of structural hammering, see the comment earlier about make shift padding.

This is a nice mallet set for camping. I had trouble getting the plastic off the top of the larger one, but I appreciate that it was well protected in shipping as it arrived in perfect condition. I'm sure it will get plenty of blemishes from use this summer, but for now it's all pretty and new. There was a bit of a smell when I first opened them, but that went away quickly. They seem to work well for tapping in tent stakes without damaging the stake. I'll see how well they hold up over time, but they seem well made so I anticipate having them for many years to come.

I'm not very impresses with this mallet set, especially the 12-inch one. It's much smaller than I imagined, with a pencil-thick handle that's difficult to grip. It feels more like a child's toy than a shop tool. I know this design is intended to be smaller, but they could have added a bit more bulk to the handle. Making matters worse, the material used for the grip feels as if it's deteriorating. Even in its new condition, I can feel little bits of grit on my hand after using the small hammer. I'm definitely going to have to wrap it with tape, so I can get a better grip, and to keep the material intact. The 16oz mallet is much better. It has good weight and balance, and the build quality is OK. Average. Nothing bad, but other great either. I have wooden handled mallets that are decades old and they are much better than either of these. One thing for sure. I’m going to have to leave these in the sun for a couple of weeks to de-gas the odor. They are terribly strong.Overall, I rate this mallet set as average to below average quality. But because the odor has me so turned off, I’m going with below average. I do not recommend.

These are good rubber mallets. The larger orange one is heavy with a soft head that wouldn't mar surfaces. The little one is good, but the handle is a bit too small to be comfortable. These types of hammers are always handy to have around, and they are a good value.

I’ve used a lot of mallets before, but this set really stands out. The rubber mallet is the perfect weight for things like assembling furniture and other small tasks around the house. It doesn’t leave any marks, which is important when working on delicate surfaces. The smaller mallet with the two different ends is amazing, it’s like having two tools in one. Switching between the soft and hard ends makes it so versatile. Both tools are easy to hold, and the grip doesn’t slip, even if your hands get sweaty. This set is a great pick!

I found these mallets really useful. The rubber mallet worked great for driving tent stakes securely, and the smaller one with dual sides was perfect for more detailed tasks. They’re comfortable to hold, and the quality feels solid. Totally worth it!
