The hook portion is about the thickness of a cheap clothes hanger and does not feel strong/durable at all. I weighed one and it was 1.5 ounces.I bought this to replace the hook that came with my battery-powered pool sweep, which broke. This one looks considerably weaker. Knowing that, I will be extremely careful with it, and instead of lifting it out of the water using your hook, I’ll only get it to the surface and reach in to get it.The only reason I’m giving three stars is because it’s priced as if it were cheap junk ($10 for two hooks). If it were priced as if it were a quality product, I would rate it lower.

More sturdy than looks in advertisements. Great value.

These looked big enough and strong enough to hold my robot vacuum but were not. Afraid to break them so I returned.

Got these as backup for the one I already own which works great, but probably won't last more than a season. It makes retrieving our pool robot so much easier, but likewise is helpful with other tasks around the pool, like the cover, retrieving floaties the kids leave in the pool and other stuff. It fits on the end of most standard pool poles and is a quick release so easy on, easy off. If you need to retrieve items from your pool this is a nice accessory to have. It looks a little on the weak side but works just fine and so far has lasted all summer.

I've had my eye on these hooks for a while. We have lots of pool leaf baskets, strainer basket hooks and such stuff, including a long metal pool with a leaf basket on the end. However, when something gets tangled up in the deep end, we didn't have a tool for that. Now we do.These hooks work with the long extension pole to reach stuff in the deep end of the pool. They are made of plastic but they look like they can take a lot and not bend or break. We've had some of the neighbor's things in our pool (on the deep end) when it has been windy. An umbrella, for example. It was not easy to retrieve without a hook on the end of the long pole. Next time it will be easier.

These plastic hooks fit onto a standard pole. The material thickness is about as thin as I would feel comfortable with, and the hook tends to flex quite a bit if the weight on the hook is shifted to one side. I would say they are adequate for most use, but heavier robots above water level could produce excess strain on the design.

It works, the price is right and you have a spare. What more would you want?
