I always buy American made first but that was not an option for these adapters. I had purchased a couple of the DeWalt adapters. One of them fried recently so I purchased these aftermarket adapters. They appear to be good quality. They actually fit better and are easier to remove than the DeWalt. At a fifth of the cost I was skeptical but so far looks to be a good product.

As my luck would have it, I bought the complete set of the 18V DeWalt cordless power tools before the 20V came out. No big deal but the DeWalt 18V batteries go bad after about 20 recharges. I kept buying the placement batteries with the same luck.I finally bought the 20V set and I was going to get rid of the 18V set until I seen these adapters. The price was right so I thought why not? Glad that I did bc now I’ve got basically two of everything. If you’re in the same situation, I highly suggest that you buy this adapter. Best of luck.T.H.

Great value for such well made adapters. Look to be very durable. Easy to remove. Definitely recommend to other potential customers.

My complete tool set was bought in the late 90s and still works fine...if the batteries work. However, I have at least a dozen paper weight DeWalt batteries in my garage, brand name and knockoff. Usually get a couple three years before they won't hold enough charge to drill one hole. Borrowed a battery and charger from a friend before buying this adaptor to make sure it would work at all, and it does. Can't compare it to the brand name adaptor but this one was substantially cheaper and it does the job.

These snap tightly into my older Dewalt tools and allow the use of the newer batteries. Works great and is a better investment than buying older style batteries to keep your old tools in use. Now I just use the modern batteries in everything. One problem I found is if you leave the batteries on these adaptors it will kill them DEAD. There must be a small current draw, it killed one of my batteries so dead it would not even start the charger, might be ruined. Use these but remove the batteries at the end of the day.EDIT - It looks like the USB power board in these is the battery killer. They must draw a small amount of current even when nothing is plugged in to them. I opened mine up and snipped the wires and removed the USB port completely, no more issues. For those that don't know, if you run one of these batteries down to absolute zero volts, the chargers will not recognize them and will not charge them. Usually if you leave them sit for a day they will recover enough to start the charging process. If not you can take a couple of wires and "jump start" them with another battery. Do a quick web search to find the specifics and be careful.

This product worked very well for me. My DCD950 DeWalt Cordless drill had been down for over two years. The product fitted my drill with no issues and I was able to use my 20V battery with no problem.
