A must have on outdoor faucets. Solid construction but be sure to use Teflon tape for hard water areas. Left one on couple of years and it got welded to faucet so using tape you will have a great vacuum breaker for years.

These are simple to use and work well. Not much to them as you just screw them on and tighten the set screw.

We were required to install these on a house we are selling, per inspection. This was the cheapest way to comply with the requirement, and they did not leak on initial installation. Personally I despise these backflow breakers and have removed them from my new house already, as best I can tell their only purpose is to waste water and soak you in spray every time you turn off the hose.

This is nearly the same PVB available at my local home center. Threads on both sides are of good quality and thread on and off easily. It does have the 'break off screw' but I don't use it. After reading other reviews: The extra washer is to replace the one in your hose; because if you're taking hose off anyways, you may as well put in a new washer (I didn't). As for it 'spraying' when turning off the water... That is normal. If you don't want a shower (which I fully understand), leave the other end of the hose open / on THEN turn off the spigot. Personally, I hold the spray nozzle open as I turn off the water supply. I barely get a drip.
