Artificial plants are... artificial. I was looking for an artificial plant that didn't have the shiny, plastic look. This plant has a matte, dusty gray-greenness and is very realistic looking. Sadly, it didn't work where I needed it to, so I am returning it. Even though I am sending it back, I felt compelled to say how great this is.

This is really nice and looks real. You do need to get a separate pot to put it in.

Well made artificial plant. Exactly what I was looking for. It looks real in natural light. When I turn my den light on it reflects off and you can tell from a distance it’s fake. Not a complaint, just honest.

The 4 main trunks are real bamboo, but they are cut off at the top and the plastic branches are stuck into the hollow portion of the bamboo and hot glued (see photos). Because the top branches and 'leaves' are so thin, the tops of these bamboo poles really stand out and make it very obvious that this is an artificial tree. For the price of this tree, I expected better workmanship to make the tree look more realistic.Because the leaf stems are just plastic, there is no way to carefully reposition the stems and leaves so that they hide the tops of the bamboo poles. The stems that hold the leaf stems have metal inside them, so you can kind of bend them a little bit, but again, the leaf portion cannot be repositioned. Many of the plastic leaves are put onto the plastic stems upside down. This looks really odd. If you are VERY careful, you can twist this plastic leaf portion around so that the tops of the fabric leaves are facing up, instead of down. But again, for the price of this tree, you shouldn't have to fix anything. The leaves themselves are made of a fabric material adhered to plastic. The plastic stems that hold the leaves have no metal inside them - so there is no way to reposition the leaves themselves.I was hoping that from a distance this artificial plant would look a bit more realistic, but because you can clearly see the tops of the bamboo poles and because you can't reposition the leaves better, and because the top of this artificial plant is broken and flat, this tree still looks artificial. The pot this tree comes in is very small - 6-inch diameter by 5-inches tall. It is weighted to help keep the tree from tipping over. There is a black plastic layer on top that is supposed to look like soil, which it does from a distance. But the pot is very small, so looks out of proportion to the 4-foot height of the plant. The item description states there are over 670 leaves on this tree. Each bamboo pole holds 41 groups of leaves, and each group of leaves has 4 leaves on it. So there are close to 670 leaves altogether as stated.I was hoping to use this artificial tree as party decor. After the party, I was planning on bringing it to our lake cabin to add a touch of greenery to a house that isn't temperature controlled during our Minnesota Winters (it's too cold for any live plant to survive the winter). Despite the flaws with this tree, I will still bring it to the cabin. I'll just tuck it into a corner behind a chair propped up on a tall table, to make the tops of the bamboo poles less obvious. Since the top plastic leaves are broken and now flat, I'll attempt to swap those broken parts with leaves from lower on the tree. If I can do this, at least the top of this artificial plant won't be flat and the broken parts might be less obvious. I might have to use hot glue to make this swap, but I'll do whatever I can to salvage this tree. It's just unfortunate this tree was broken in the first place.I've looked at other artificial bamboo trees in the past at a local home decor store, and without a doubt the trees available locally are much better quality than this one. At this price point, the workmanship and definitely the packaging from the manufacturer needs to be a lot better.

With the chill of Winter upon us, I took the opportunity to order a couple of artificial green plants to remind me that warmer weather is on the way (but not soon enough). I got the Softflame Artificial Potted Plants in both Agave and Bamboo. In this review, I will focus on the Agave Plant. While this Softflame Agave Plant has an overall goo look, there were a couple of things that I didn't like about it. The major issue is (what I think is) flash from the injection molding process. It appears that the leaves are injection molded and there is material left that flowed back out of the injection hold (see yellow circles on my pictures). I would think that these flaws should have been cleaned up, but perhaps, due to the texture of the leave, it wasn't possible. Any way, it's not a good look. Now, from a distance, you can't really see this defect, but I tend to be critical - especially on an item that sells for almost 60 bucks. The other thing that I didn't like is that the leaves are not "rigidly flexible". By that I mean, like on an artificial Christmas tree, one is able to shape the branches. You can't do that on this Softflame Artificial Agave Plant so however it comes is how it stays. It looks reasonable, but I would like to be able to puff the leaves outward a little - to add a little bit of randomness to the shape.Came nicely packaged. The base planter is nice and heavy. For now, I will find a place for it in the house, but come warmer weather and it becomes an outdoor decoration.Hopefully, my review will help you make an informed purchase. Please let me know if I helped or leave a review and let me know that I am wrong.

These were packaged extremely well, and arrived in great shape. I purchased them to go on a south-facing deck because I'm tired of paying a fortune for real agave plants - when I can even find them, and they never last more than one season. This is the first time I've caved in and purchased artificial plants of any kind and I'm hoping they work out well.
