Within a week of placing this strainer in the drain, it began to rust. The seam and bottom contain jagged edges.The same thing that made this item attractive serves as a drawback. The deep basket makes it so that you don't have to clean it out on a weekly basis; however, when you do have to clean it out, the depth makes it difficult. Furthermore, the handle gets in the way.Though you have to clean it more often, I would recommend that you consider screen such as https://www.amazon.com/Strainer-Catcher-Stopper-Bathtub-Stainless/dp/B0721467NB/ref=sr_1_8?s=hi&ie=UTF8&qid=1522158746&sr=1-8&keywords=shower+drain+strainer. It's a fraction of the cost, is easy to clean, and so far has not shown rust.
