Excellent quality coupler repair kit. Installation was a breeze. Much better and cheaper option then cutting, drilling, and bolting the complete coupler. Just one word of advice; everybody now has a camera on their phone. Always take pictures before you start any project no matter how small!

With 40 years in the engineering fields this is an excellent replacement for my receiver latch that was thirty years old. Would strongly recommend viewing YouTube videos on latch replacement to be able to adjust the unit correctly. This is especially true for novice mechanics and those less mechanically inclined as an incorrect adjustment can make its use hazardous. This applies regardless of the unit purchased, whether from this manufacturer or any other. Unit takes a little work to install and align correctly but that is expected due to the close tolerances required to maintain a secure latch with variable force axis acting upon the unit.

It was not the easiest thing for one person to install. I do like the fact that it did not take long to install even by myself. I wish there had been more directions that came with the product.

I installed this product tonight on a 30 year old snowmobile trailer with a 2” ball. My installation experience was in between many of the other reviews. Not super easy but doable with some patience. I did have to use some old pieces from the latch I was replacing so compatibility was an issue here.The latch itself is a quality part. The metal was thicker than the old part and the rust resistant coating looks thick and even. The latch clips nicely and the included safety pin and chain are a nice touch.The compatibility problem I had was with the ball retainer plate thing that goes under the ball to hold it in the hitch. My old part had a sort of stair step to it that let it hang on the very high cross pivot pin that is part of the receiver. The new part did not have this stair step (hopefully you can see it in the pictures to better understand). No matter how I tried the new part wouldn’t fit. I was able to use the rest of the new parts without trouble. The threaded section and springs were a good fit with plenty of room to get the nut threaded without having to preload the springs. This is a very old trailer so I do not feel this was a deal breaker, only that it may be that there are enough different designs out there that mixing and matching new and old parts may be necessary to get this to work. It’s not one size fits all.I recommend this part to anyone who is mechanically inclined.
