The finish is perfect. Topside is mirror like. The reverse is evenly chromed to prevent rust. Leg is straight. Holds securely to the hooks. Will enhance the appearance of my banjo. Ordering a second for another banjo.

This armrest looks great and attaches easily. I was skeptical about what I would get for this price, but this is perfect.

Easy install, nice look. I was gifted a student model Galveston 5-string banjo. This and a compensated bridge made a difference.

I like the armrest, however... it just Barely fits my Deering GoodTime open back banjo. The tangs on the armrest itself, just Barely cover to the very outside edges of the two tension lugs for the Banjo head where I have it positioned, and does Not overlap the lugs at all.If each end of the armrest tangs were just 1/8th" shorter than they are, you would Not be able to tighten the armrest, as it would slip down and off the tension lugsThe Armrest itself is well made, but the tangs on the where it mounts against the lugs, need to be lengthened by a 16th" to 1/8th" on each end, and notched to cover the tension lugs... at least to properly fit the Deering GoodTime Open back lug spacing. The Inside of the armrest tangs ARE Notched to fit closer lug spacing like on the Ibanez B200, and the Recording King R-20 and many other Resonator (closed back) and Open back Banjo's.I have a RK-20 Resonator, and the notches on the inside of the armrest tangs, match up perfectly with the lugs.... however, my RK-20 already came with an armrest, but I thought I would check the new Armrest from Amazon, against it for fit, just out of curiosity.

First, this is a really decent armrest for the cost! Not sure about the quality of the metal and the chrome like finish, but it does look nice. The finish might even look better once faded, as long as it doesn’t flake off. This is definitely designed to work on a banjo with an 11 inch pot with about 24 brackets (lugs), however, I was able to modify it to work on my 1922 Vega Tu-Ba-Phone Tenor Banjo Style M with a 12” pot and 30 lugs. I used a Dremel tool with a small cutting wheel to remove (cut off) the small tit and cut back one side of the retainer on the leg that holds the armrest between the brackets/lugs.Note to manufacturer; you could make this work on any banjo by putting the retainer pins on the plate not the armrest leg and then sell the product with three different retainer plates, one for 22, 24, and 28 brackets.Hope this helps!

Banjo armrests attach by putting a bar piece under the drumhead struts (trapping the bar between the struts and the drum). The bar piece then straddles two struts and the armrest then screws on to the (trapped)piece. And the struts hold everything in place. Although reviews sounded like this particular armrest would fit most banjos and a Goodtime banjo from 2022, the struts did not have clearance to get the piece underneath the struts of the Goodtime. The Goodtime appears to have less room under the struts than most banjos I’ve seen. I thought about using a grinder to thin the bar piece but I didn’t find one readily available. A web search found one specifically made for a Goodtime banjo. It supplies two new struts with more clearance. Check out elderly.com for Elderly instruments (new and used, etc).

It's very nice and would work great, but my banjo doesn't have a place to mount this part. Thanks

Excellent product, just a slight mod to length of screw and then a perfect fit.

Doesn't fit the goodtime entry-level banjo by deering. As another reviewer mentioned, you'd need to grind down the backing piece because it's too thick to fit. Other than the fit issue, it's build quality seems fine.
