I read up on door bell chimes. Says not to forget to connect the diode nearest to the door bell button. My system has no diode. Bought these diodes - though I only needed one - wired the diode in parallel across the door bell button and voila, chimes work. If you wire the diode the wrong way, nothing changes. You simply turn it the other way and the system now works every time you press the door bell. Solved my five year issue of being unhappy with the chimes! A simple diode was added. Now I wonder why the person that installed it did not do it right in the first place!
