Bought two of these, they work great for both use cases. My pitbull is a messy drinker, the lid works great to contain backsplash when she drinks (even without the floating disk). My mom's border collie puppy is playful and destructive, this bowl deters him from splashing and flipping over with his paws. I suggest that you introduce it slowly, my dog was initially scared of the floating disc movement and wouldn't use it for weeks until she followed the other dog's lead drinking from it at the other house.

Great dog bowl for alleviating water messes that your dog creates. My dogs love this bowl and it helps contain any spillage.

My corso is a drool monster. My husky is determined there is a hidden portal at the bottom of the water dish. It works. Keeps water in the bowl helps with slobber.Unfortunately for me it didn't work out. My dogs want to drink at the same time even if I had 10 they would want to stick thier heads in the same bowl.

We have 3 golden retrivers. They make a mess when drinking. I have put washable potty pads down to help my floors. My husband showed me a picture of this water bowl and I bought it. It holds more than I thought. I am not filling as much as our other bowl. The best part is no more wet floor. They all learned to drink out of it with no issues. I am so happy. No more wet floors and messy feeding area.

We have 4 large yellow labs that got more water on the floor than they did their mouths. This has been a life changer. No more wet mouths dripping all over the floor. They have no issues getting water out and have drank the bowl empty many times. It does get slimy with backwash but so does any bowl. A quick wash and the lid pops off super easy. Highly recommend for anyone with a messy drinker!

My dog is a mix between a shepherd and an English mastiff and weighs 93 pounds. He likes to scoop the water when he drinks it which makes for a big mess and water all over the floor. This has been the perfect solution for his messy drinking. There are barely any dribbles of water after he drinks, but he still is able to drink plenty of water. He seems very happy with it although he still would like to scoop his water which I allow him to do outside!

This is super pretty and cleans up well too . I like that the top has notches and rotates to tighten vs popping it off like the one we had prior. Love the plastic vs metal design too . My giant schnauzer has a huge muzzle n beard and tongue and I find the whole on top a bit too wide to keep her beard from soaking , and it’s a bit deep . When the water is down past half way , she can’t get her tongue in to get it . Larger volume bowls need to be wider vs deeper .

I have three golden retrievers. All three are sloppy drinkers, with the added difficulty that one regularly paddles and another dances around knocking bowls over. My slate floor was constantly wet (reeeeeally wet). Tried mats underneath, they just became chew toys. This bowl stopped 97% of the mess instantly (a little bit of dribble but nothing like before).The boys instantly figured it out, and while it took a few days for them to actively use it instead of just waiting to drink outside, that has now settled. Have ordered another one so I don't need to refill as often.Really easy to separate parts and clean - does need a wipe down at least once a week to maintain hygiene from the slobber, but easy to do.Honestly, if you have messy drinkers, can truly recommend this.

I shuddered at the thought that I was considering spending so much on a dog bowl, but it’s turned out to be the best money spent. My Labradoodle is a sloppy drinker and I couldn’t figure out why my skirting boards had water warp marks - I thought it was my kids poor aim in filling up the water bowl. This this is amazing, does exactly what it is supposed to, and is large enough to put the dog rocks in the bottom. The water stays cleaner because only the tongue touches it - no more dirty soil and everything else making it gross within a day. Will never go back - worth the investment - just do it!

dog sitter here, and let me tell you that these are fantastic. i’ve used neater feeders for water for a few years, and they were becoming a hassle, and were too big and awkward to clean.i found a few of these on amazon resale recently, and i’m never looking back.they’re nice and sturdy, feel durable, are easy to twist open (if they feel stuck, empty out the water, lay it on its side, and then twist off the top!), easy to clean, hold a LOT of water, are well priced, and have SAVED me from the messiest water drinkers. the floating plate and the smaller opening on top slows them down, makes them take smaller drinks, and even prevents them from getting the water bowls all drooly and slimy! i watch a lot of giant breeds, and even the biggest ones have had no issues with these bowls. and the opening is large enough that even when the water level is low, they can still drink out of it. these are easy to refill with a pitcher, and only have to wash these every 4-5 days. really impressed with it, and i have three now!
