Well, this one was a puzzle. I purchased it so I can watch TV without bothering the whole family by hooking up headphones. TV's and sound bars don't come with headphone jacks any more. So I had to buy a digital splitter that plugs into the digital port on the TV and then you plug 2 digital cords into that. One for the sound bar and one for the DAC Converter. Of course if you don't need a sound bar, you don't need a splitter. So I got it all hooked up and turned everything on and a big NOTHING....tried everything I knew but still go no sound. So I thought maybe I purchased the wrong type of converter and bought a different version. Still no sound. I was ready to send them both back and decided to search the internet and see if anyone had a suggestion. Turns out my Samsung was set to spdif and it needed to set to PCM. No where in the instructions for this box did it ever say anything about this issue. Anyway, set the TV to PCM and everything started working. Still has a small hum but with the volume up it's not too noticeable. Especially with my OLD tired ears....
