This was a great fit for my john deere d110. After pulling the brake rod out and dropping the underside plate, I could get to the sector gear unbolted. The gears and new bolt were perfect for the D110 and i'm sure other John Deere tractors.

Do not buy. I wasted several hours installing this kit on my D125 only to find out that it is made of substandard metal and it does not match or function like the OEM part as advertised.The sector plate is undersized causing alignment issues and severely limiting the steering radius.The cheap bolt threads stripped under torque.Lastly, and most importantly, the pinion gear is made of soft steel, not properly hardened. The teeth began to gouge noticeably during the first few turns of the wheel and sector plate.This kit was a complete waste of time and money.

I found I also had to drop the bracket holding the sector gear to gain access to the steering linkage nuts. With everything dismantled, I inspected the Transmission drive belt and was shocked at its poor condition. Replaced it too while it was accessible. All in all, these repairs took (and a good clean) awhile, but my mower is now ready for another 10yrs of service.
