Cut open the casing of the irrigation wire (be careful not to damage the inner core)
- The irrigation line casing is made of high-quality PVC, which is waterproof, corrosion-resistant, UV-resistant, and can be directly buried underground.
Remove excess PVC casing from irrigation wires
- Irrigation wires have built-in nylon ropes that increase the tensile strength of the wires, making them stronger and more durable. At the same time, the nylon rope can also assist in peeling off the shell.
Strip the casing off each of the different colored internal wires

Excellent low voltage wire for longer distances. This wire is easy to cut and strip. It is made of solid copper. Great wire all around.

_We need a few run of low voltage wire to power multiple motion detectors. The "LUCKY TL 18/7 Sprinkler Wire, 100 ft Garden Low Voltage Wire, 18 Gauge Wire, Irrigation Wire, Suitable for Solid Sprinkler Systems, Pure Copper Wire" fit the bill. The "LUCKY TL 18/7 Sprinkler Wire" wires have a solid core copper, multiple color wire jacket making ID them &/or separate them a lot easier. Since these wires fit "loosely" inside the black casing we hesitate to use this type of wire where it will remotely move, step on, any abrasion could affect it allowing water or contamination to enter. We are carefully make sure any intrusion included both end are properly protected from the elements. Before we start the run we make sure the wire has been warm up a little bit before unwind them and provided support them as soon as possible. Both ends of the run and any intrusions have multiple heat shrink with adhesive lined, waterproof shrink wrap tubes to protect from the elements; even if they are inside a enclosure. Through out the years we found a few minutes of prep now versus trying to diagnostic an intermittent issue later is worth the small amount of time spend plus years of reliable service.__
