Tool is fine, it just doesn't expand exhaust pipes well that are not attached to something to hold the pipe from spinning.

Price wise you're getting what you paid for. Will work well for thin lined material, but this product to adjust exhaust diameter bigger than a few micro or nanometers.... Good luck!

Used the pipe extander on a 2 1/2" exhaust pipe. Watched all the videos on Youtube and had already made up my mind that it might not work. Greased up the tool as recommended in most to the videos. Also used a 1/2" impact drill. It took me all of 2 minutes to expand the pipe. Wonderful tool!

This pipe expander is so poorly made that the 6 parts that are supposed to swell the pipe are cast. As soon as I tried to use it 2 of the 6 parts broke in half. The expander ends cracked in a starfish pattern from the pressure of just tightening it using an open end wrench. It should have been able to expand 2 inch exhaust tubing without much effort at all.

Works as described. Fair price. Good selection. I recommend this product.

You can't use this expander straight out of the box. You must put grease or anti-seize on the mandrel threads. Disassemble and grease the die segments. You need to gradually expand the pipe. I put marks on the mandrel so I know how many turns to go for each "stretch". I usually 3/4 to 1 full turn, loosen and rotate a half of a die segment and repeat the last step. Continue to repeat the last two steps until the ID is where you need it. My only peeve is that the ID is tapered. I knew this was going to happen before I used it. Get a better tool if you can't handle the taper.

I purchased a aftermarket stock exhaust bolt on kit from RockAuto and one pipe on the end of the muffler came dented. See Pic, so in order to make that end slide over the exhaust pipe that I cut, I knew I needed some way to round it back out and this tool did the trick. I don’t understand why there are so many negative reviews. I did NOT use an impact but used my breaker bar and turned it by hand. Also, I used different parts of this tool to get the result I needed. Good thing I got this tool because one other piece of pipe needed stretching out as well. I took my time expanding both pipes out and did not put 100ft lbs of torque on it, come on people, use some common sense.

Had high hopes, anytime you buy a tool in a case you expect it's a long term tool. Didn't even get a use out of this. First pipe and first try using a 3/4 wrench and this broke. Couldn't even expand a single pipe before losing my money. You buy a tool like this because you need it and you count on it helping you accomplish your goal/project. Very cheaply made cast aluminum I think is why it broke apart. Didn’t even get to apply enough torque to a cheater bar before this failed.
