Never had one until this one arrived. It heats up instantly. Asparagus taste amazing after turning up this rocket ship and let it char for a few seconds. I highly recommended. As for longevity, no clue, I’ll update if anything.

Update: after posting this review, the seller reached out to me to try and resolve the issues. They never asked me to change the review, and worked to both get information to improve the product and to make the situation right. So I want to add that, while I stand by the review below and am not changing it, I would happily do business with the seller again and buy products from this brand in the future.Original review (unedited) below:I got this because I wanted an 1800w induction wok hob. The main products in this category are 1500-1700w (I have used them both) and I wanted a bit more power if possible. The very first impression upon unboxing is that the “cast iron” wok is in fact enameled steel. It’s a low quality wok. I would say “whatever, it’s $10” but for $15 I can buy a 14” winco carbon steel wok that is much better than this, so 8 don’t think existing better is unreasonable.Next impression is that the whole thing is fairly light. The stainless steel is thin, and the plastic is light, and the controls don’t feel great, but none of that would really bother me. I like the style better than the big plastic bean look of the nuwave for example. The power cord is nicely heavy duty. Plugging it in, the fans spin up briefly and in my case made that distinctive awful sound of a fan that is hitting something as it spins. A bit of poking around reveals that a ribbon cable is flopping around inside the unit and falling across the fan blades. So I took off the bottom screws and used a bit of gaffer’s tape to hold the ribbon cable away from the fan. That solved that problem. Since I had it open, I was able to get a clear view of the induction coil. It isn’t super heavy but it is concave and fairly large all things considered. I didn’t measure it but I honestly expected less. After putting it back together and powering it up, it works fine with my wok. I didn’t use the included enamel wok but I don’t have high hopes. With my carbon steel wok it works just as one would expect from an induction wok hob.The 10 power levels is probably fine for 99% of all users. With a normal flat cooktop I would say you want more steps because pressure cookers and the like can easily need to be between two settings if they are too coarse, but for a wok I don’t think it matters so much. I’m not a huge fan of how the timer works but it works. I did not try the temperature mode but I’m guessing it’s fine.I’m giving it 1 stars even though it works ok. Two reasons: 1) the wok is misrepresented and honestly I don’t think they should even offer it with a wok if that’s the wok they are going to ship, and 2) I would have been completely justified in returning it due to the wire in the fan. I fixed it, and the fix took less than 5 minutes, but they should have taped that ribbon cable up. There was even a place for it to be routed where it couldn’t fall into the fan, and it just needed an inch of tape to make sure it stayed in place. It’s a shame because if they were selling an 1800w induction wok hob for $100 and it actually worked properly without needing repairs straight out of the box that would be a good value I could recommend.

Since a family member was diagnosed with gluten allergy we have been eating a lot of asian food since it is fairly easy to make it gluten free. I had been cooking it in a regular fry pan but noticed in several recipes that they said making the food in a wok improved the texture and taste. It does. In fact I tried a very small experiment, making a dish I make very often but not telling my family that I had used a wok to cook it in. Several members of my family commented that for some reason the food tasted “more like restaurant food” and “the meat is better, did you buy some other brand of chicken”.The included wok is about 13 inches across, so pretty large. You have to install the handle. It does NOT come with a lid (I wish it did so I could steam in the pot as well). It states you can use with non concave pots, but that it will not heat as fast (makes sense as only heat at points of contact). You need to use a magnetic pan since it is an induction heater.I am not super impressed with the wok that comes with it, the wood handle does not seem that sturdy and it is not a really heavy pan. Of course that does help it heat faster, so that should be considered. It heats up MUCH faster and I can control the cooking easier in this.It takes a lot of space to store, so be aware of that issue.

What a great induction wok. I use this for outdoor cooking and I absolutely love it. Heats up super fact and gets scorching hot. The wok is super non stick and the entire thing is made very well. It's easy and fun to use.
