Back pack is well made. Leather corners. Sits up with square bottom. Tools are good. Waterproof gloves. Rock hammer and chisels are of good quality. Safety googles are excellent in own case. Pocket on side and front and hold-does straps on one side. Do wish there were a couple more pockets on inside; but excellent.

We have two boys who followed mom’s collection of rock hounding and this was the perfect Christmas gift! Our summer is about to be so exciting with all our tools, the bag, a book so we know what we look at! Love it!!

This was the Christmas gift I bought for a friend's niece and nephew (ages three and seven respectively). The canvas carrying bag keeps everything together. I added some extras – a set of smaller chisels, two smaller hammers, a set of picks, three brushes, child-sized safety glasses and gloves,more 'specimen bags', and a field notebook. I also gave them several blocks of plaster of Paris in which I had embedded fossils, animal bones, walnut shells, coins, and semi-precious stones. I sat with them for about an hour, teaching them how to use the equipment safely to liberate the prizes hidden within. Those two little angels sat there chipping away at the plaster until they fell asleep that night, and continued the hunt as soon as they woke up the next morning. Their mother and father thanked me for giving their children the best Christmas gift ever! Santa gave them a rock tumbler – and now they are polishing those stones to turn them into real gems! Next step is to take them to a local fossil deposit, where they can chip the fossils out of the matrix with their kit, then finish cleaning the fossils at home. Open a door of fascination and wonder for a child with this kit!

Took my son rock mining for the first time. Had no clue what to pack. Glad I got this. Everything we needed was in the bag. Good quality. Only used 1x but seems like it will hold up to continued usage.
