This 16GB cartridge can hold about 1600 hours of talking book audio because each gigabyte holds approximately 100 hours of talking book audio, formatted for the National Library Service of the Library of Congress (NLS) for use on the NLS Digital Talking Book Player. This means most people will be able to put all their favorite books on one cartridge, maybe even every single book from all of your favorite authors on this one cartridge. This 16 gigabyte cartridge, on average can to store up to an amazing 180 books on one cartridge. Unlike other cartridges on the market that use PCBA memory, our cartridges use the much newer and more durable UDP memory.

I love my little blue cartridges. They're so handy and work great in my Talking Book Player. I would be lost without them. My only complaint is that they don't come in a larger capacity than 16GB. Please don't ever stop making these! But please make them in larger capacities, 129 GB to 2 TB.

I got one of these cassettes to put music on for a client. None of the talking books have music. It’s absolutely amazing to me. So anyway, I wanted to put some music on one of these cassettes for her but none of the cables I bought to go with it would plug into my computer and the cassette and the cassette won’t plug-in directly to the computer. It would be nice if they sold the right cable With the cassette, it would’ve made life so much easier or at least made a recommendation 🙄🙂I’ve just ordered another new cable and hopefully this one will work. I’ll keep you posted.

These cartridges have enough memory so that I can download entire book series. This makes listening to Talking Books even more accessible, you can't beat that!!

My son is 12. He was low vision his entire life. He only had some vision in his left eye. He used to listen his book reader (joke about how it had replaced me lol) & play Minecraft for hours, which I know isn't what parents want but the fact that he could even play a video game was beyond what we had ever hoped. He built the most amazing things. He would plan, calculate...& Build bigger & better things on his Minecraft world. One day he became sick & the pressure from throwing up caused his retina to detach in his "good eye" & he has been blind ever since. His book reader was the one thing he had left. After listening to the same books over & over- bc you order a book title & they send you a cartridge with that title & several others...I found BARD. It took me a while 2figure out how to get the job robotic voices like the ones from Library of Congress. But now instead of ordering several cartridges with preloaded titles we can now download ONLY the books he wants to hear. These cartridges allow me to download & play any book from the Library of Congress & he can operate it himself. Most of all they hold so many hours of read time. I recommend if you have an NLS talking book reader to register for BARD or have someone help you do it. Wait 2days & call if need be. My son was so excited & couldn't wait to make his own "bookshelf". These cartridges are so inexpensive for the amount of hours & books they hold. We're so thankful to have a way to listen to all the books we want without having to have ones we don't or mailing cartridges back. We look forward to finding more titles!

This cartridge is the largest capacity for holding many titles from BARD (Braille Audio Reading Download). This cartridge can hold many large books like Bibles, Commentaries, any series of books that may interest you, etc.The finger hole in the front of the cartridge makes it easy to insert it into your Digital Talking Book Player. You will need a special USB cable to attach to your computer to add or remove books, magazines, or audio files to the cartridge. This would be ideal to store a set of Bible Commentaries or Cookbooks that you want to keep for your personal library.The total storage capacity is 15GB formatted in FAT32. No need to format/reformat.

If you have a talking book player and you know how to use it well, and you have a little internet capability, this is amazing to download what you want instantly and have multiple books or magazines available instantly without having to receive or send anything back. It works just like any other talking book cartridge and is very easy to load, especially if you can use BARD express (online catalog). You do need a USB adaptor cable to load it and that is separate. This cartridge is so large I couldn't imagine needing another unless you are saving files (but the files could also be saved on a computer and loaded and unloaded as needed). The only drawback is that you do have to press a lot of buttons on the talking book player to get to the book you need because the file space is so large on this cartridge but that is NOT a problem with the CARTRIDGE itself.
