Like other reviews say, sandpaper is needed to clean up the edgesWhat I did NOT expect was the strong chemical smell. Wow! Debating on whether I want to return it and seek a different option.

These crochet hooks are a real delight, their lightweight they’re easy to use. The length of them are perfect. They feel comfortable in my hands and I love them. They are a wonderful asset to my collection of different sorts of crochet hooks.

I tested the hook sizes I use most 4, 4.5 and 5mm with some of my snaggier yarns. The 5 and 4.5 were quite smooth with only a very slight rub. ( nothing like that horrible feel you get with metal hooks and certain acrylic/poly yarns 😬) The 4mm had a tiny hitch and you can see the reason on the close up.(I'm holding the 4, 4.5 and 5, left to right) Having used bamboo hooks and needles before, I find that a bit of 500 grit sandpaper is all you need to smooth down any rough or sharp edges, and they will crochet up beautifully. I quite like these esp after a little touch up with sand paper, they didn't need much, and for what you pay you have a really nice set of crochet hooks. I think these are well worth buying and they are light and easy on the hands too.

I have used wood crochet hooks all my adult life and have never hand one as rough as this is. the working area is in need of sanding at the crevice and both internal sides of the cut away parts, causing the yarn to snag and fray, rendering it useless. Other ones I have purchased may have required minor sanding but were usable after a couple moments with a fine emery broad, but that is not the case with this one. It is not going to get better with use because it is so rough and takes far too long to even do basic chain stitch. Not worth the bother of having to drive 3 miles to send it back.

I needed a huge crochet hook for a project using super bulky yarn. This is well made, very smoothly finished and works as it should.

I bought this 30 size croquet hook to make a blanket as a Christmas gift for my daughter. The hook was smooth and very easy to work with. I would suggest not making too tight of stitches though so as to make the blanket softer. I used Bernat Big Chunky yarn and the blanket turned out great. It took a little practice getting used to this large hook but if you want to make a big chunky blanket, I would highly recommend this hook!

I used this for a blanket I made. It was #10 yarn. Decent hook, didn't seem to snag yarn, hand still got tired and the space for where u grip was a bit off for me. But seems like it will hold up for future use and seemed well made. Good stitch markers, , standard size it seemed. Nice colors
