I have a few close family members with dyslexia, so I’m always interested in products that might make reading easier for them. Not every color will work equally as well for an individual, and some people might not see much of a benefit, but it’s absolutely worth trying out! This set has a good selection of colors, and includes both a wide and narrow window. (There is protective film on one side, so make sure you remove that or the window may not look as clear as it should.)One of my family members said that she wished she had something like this last year for use with a particularly hard to read textbook because it would have made the reading for the class easier. This is a great set for an individual, for homeschooling, and I can even see this being helpful to have a few sets in a classroom too.

I got these for my daughter who has no dyslexia diagnosis but has had significant delays in learning to read. I can't speak to how well they work for dyslexia specifically. However, for early reading this really helped her to track her progress along the page. She tends to lose focus when tracking with her finger and loses her place easily, and these helped tremendously with that. While the different colors didn't seem to make any difference in how she read, the variety made it fun for her to pick out which one to use. I like that they come in different sizes so we can choose the appropriate size for the text she's reading, and can also size up to paragraph-length when she's ready for that.

I absolutely love these things and I wish I had them back in college. The highlights are great guides for smaller text or to leave as a placeholder on the last paragraph I read. They are thin so they shouldn’t hurt the binding on older or cheaper books. And: I have a whole pack so it will take me a while to lose them all! Once I do, I’ll order some more because they are great.

One of my students is having a very hard time learning to keep up with the class on a line-by-line basis during open reading. I was so happy to see this, as it has REALLY helped her to stay on task! I hadn't been sure if it would. It's kind of a simple solution. But - so far this is keeping her on the line the rest of the class is on, which is also helping her to concentrate a bit better. This is PVC material, and easily see-through. One of the sets is for one line at a time, and the other will highlight up to five lines at a time. I REALLY appreciated that there were 8 of both types each, also. That also helps if little hands "pick" at things (if the student creases or otherwise damages theirs). At the current price of just under $10 for 16 pieces, I believe it's a good value, too. Highly recommend.

This is a great tool to use with my students. Most of the text that is used in my classroom is very small. The highlighter works well over the smaller print and helps my students to focus on a smaller amount of text at a time.

Guided Reading Highlight Strips, Dyslexia Tools for KidsI'm thrilled to have discovered these guided reading highlight strips! As a parent, I'm always on the lookout for affordable and effective tools to support my child's learning. These strips have been a game-changer for us.While I can't speak to their effectiveness for all forms of dyslexia, I've seen a significant improvement in my child's reading speed and focus. The thin strips help isolate sentences, making it easier for them to track and read with greater accuracy.I highly recommend giving these strips a try, especially if your child struggles with speed reading or focus. They're an inexpensive and non-intrusive solution that can make a real difference. As a bonus, they're also a great tool for adults who struggle with speed reading or need help staying focused. I've even started using them myself!

These are a great addition to my classroom. The variety of colors is helpful for different readers, making it easy to highlight text in a way that works best for each student. They’re flexible but thick enough to hold up through repeated use. Highly recommended for anyone working with kids on reading skills.
