This case looks really nice on the outside, but the body and mouth piece of my C foot flute were both too long for the case. My flute is silver so perhaps the length is a little longer than your typical student flute, but a case which claims to fit all C Flutes should be big enough, but it isn't. Also, when you close the lid, the foam on the lid part of the case presses down on the keys, which puts pressure on the flute and can cause breakage. I am returning this case.

We have a family flute (53 years old) the case was just as old, it was falling apart! But this is very nice & supportive for the flute. My daughter especially likes the pull through spit cloth & polishing gloves
