Pros:It does provide *some* magnification. It's not a lot, and it won't really enhance your viewing experience much, but I does in fact make the image oh-so-slightly larger.Cons:Cheap plastic construction. Quality is definitely the low end of "budget." You'll lose both some clarity and some brightness with this lens. Not useful for looking at deep space objects.Final thoughts:This is perfect if your 10-year-old is getting into astronomy and learning about telescopes. Having a cheap Barlow lens to pair with a cheap sub-$100 telescope can help them learn how to use a barlow lens. However this is not a hobbyist or enthusiast-level product. If you're an adult with an interest in astronomy I'd say stay clear of lenses in this price-range. This is definitely a beginner/budget lens and is best suited to kids who are just starting out. And it's primary purpose is to simply help them learn how a barlow lens works rather than actually improve their viewing experience.
