Finally an affordable METRIC caliper thats worth a darn and not digital. No bad/random readings. Moves pretty smooth. Worth it.

Easy to use and to read.Although the depth gauge arrived bent and I had to try to straighten it as much as possible, the gauge itself is quite high quality, its movement is quite smooth (although not like the Anytime I have)But still looks very high quality and accurate in measurements.

While test measuring a tooling which is know to be at 7.92mm diameter, the etched metric scale shows 8mm. However, the dial is read at 0.94mm, actually it's in between .92 and .94 and close to .94mm. This is verified with a certified micrometer and a Mitutoyo caliper, both read at 7.92mm. Also, the etched scale has inconsistency that is visible with naked eye. My conclusion is that the dial reading accuracy is under 0.02mm deviation from certified equipment, which is acceptable. What I need to learn is to use the scale as a reference only. Another thing is that I have not test with objects lager than 1 inch as I do not have certified caliper or micrometer for larger than 1".

I have a set of cheap digital calipers, but I got tired of fighting with the battery and zero getting off, so I looked into dial calipers. These work great. They feel WAY better than my digital pair and are a lot faster to just pull out of the box and start using, since I can't keep the battery in my digital pair (the battery drains and then they go NUTS). Old school analog tech for the win haha.

It's a good caliper, like all dials, it is easy to read. It seems to be accurate so far. The only draw back is it's use as a depth measuring instrument. The blade is too thick and the retainer bracket prevents it's use for up close positioning. Otherwise, it's great for the price and accurate.

I bought this caliper for home and light work use. I want metric and imperial separated. So I have two calipers and I use metric most of time. The quality is fairly good for ~$27 plus tax. Unit arrived in good condition, zero is dead on repeatly. Case is plastic without foam and velveting paddings which is a good thing. This a replacement for $8 Huskey I bought from Homedepot. This is day and night better than the $8 caliper. My dad is an aerospace engineer director. He had high end vernier calipers in wooden cases. I used to use his caliper when I was a kid. This one is a little tight and not super smooth and creamy during movement but it feels solid and no warbags during use. I think it will take sometime to break in and the movement will be more smooth with use and care. Maybe a tiny bit of light oil can help. I use it for light duty work, like measure size of bolts and nuts, thickness of pcb boards and measure metal retainer rings etc. I feel it should be fine for my usages for many years.

I do a lot of designs using metric measurements and own half a dozen sets of digital calipers, which are great but really burn through the batteries. So a metric dial caliper seemed to be the way to go and this set does a nice job for the money. Not sure how they'd stand up against a Starrett or other high end brand, but at 1/5th the prices, this seems well made and plenty accurate for my purposes.

It was a little rough out of the box, so I put some light machine oil on the rack; Once I did it was pretty smooth. Most important, it is accurate. I compared the measurement of this caliper with my trusty inch caliper, and they read the same down to 0.001". I was looking for a metric non-digital dial caliper and this was the only one I could find. I had tried one with both metric and inches, and it was horrible. Not only were the two dials not sync'd at zero, it would give a different zero every time (+/- 0.020"). The digital caliper worked fine and is easier to read, but I don't want to be replacing batteries all the time. The case seems a little cheap, but at least it has one.. It also came perfectly calibrated. For only $20, I'm impressed with the quality of this unit.
