I've never done melt and pour soap before, I do cold press soap. Thought I would finally try it and see how it goes. I chose honey because I've never used honey in my soap before. It really smells like honey. I did watch a quick YouTube video to make sure I knew the basics, as the instructions on the back of the soap base were minimal at best. Don't heat your soap base over 160°F since it can scald your soap, make it gloopy, turn it a different color and smell bad.As far as soap making goes, melt and pour is super simple. I just cut them along the scores and placed them in a glass pyrex mixing bowl and melted it in the microwave at 30 second increments. It ended up melting after about 1 1/2 minutes. I stirred the remains until they melted and then carefully poured in my bee/hive mini hexagonal molds. Before I got all the soap poured, it had started cooling and I did get some stringy things in my soap. I also got some bubbles stuck in the middle of some of the them. I did spray with 99% isopropyl alcohol, but that didn't get all the bubbles to burst from the top.I left them for about 2 hours and they released from the molds very easily. Since this was my first time with melt & pour, I probably could've done a better job through experience. Melt and pour is a very easy way to introduce yourself to soap making since the lye and oils have already been saponified. If you have wanted to try soap making but are too nervous, give melt and pour a shot. One downside to this soap is they don't include ALL the ingredients. For people with allergies or sensitivities, this is not safe. The packaging should have all the ingredients listed. I would guess that they added some artificial honey fragrance oil to make the honey smell stronger. They do state their ingredients are organic. They also state their melt and pour bases are vegan. If they used actual honey, which it states in the ingredient list, then this base is NOT vegan.

Very little. Makes 1 bar of regular soap. Nice color and scent is mild. But there is very little here in the bar of soap squares.

I can be a bit of a skeptic and a pessimist about things, so I generally set myself up to be pleasantly surprised when something is objectively nice. Such is the case for this melt and pour soap, which is made of ingredients that (other than glycerin) are the same ingredients used in a basic cold or hot process soap recipe. I'm an experienced soap maker and I'm left a little surprised that they managed to create a soap recipe that melts without using more commonly used melt & pour additives like alcohol. The fact that they claim the soap is "close to skin pH" leads me to believe that they might have just added in a large percentage of butters after saponification, which would be what the soaping community refers to as "superfat." This wouldn't be an ideal situation, as it lends itself to rancidity and decreased lather. However, without an actual recipe to look at, I can only speculate. The real test is in the actual usability of the soap. I don't use melt & pour to make full soap bars. I use it to fill small molds and use them as inlays in my cold or hot process soaps. This soap melted quite easily after a few quick zaps in the microwave. It poured easily and was relatively easy to unmold. So far, I haven't noticed any sweating, but it is a bit early. Most soaps won't start sweating or developing orange spots until several weeks later. The fragrance is a very, very mild fruity scent along with the clean aroma of natural soap. Nothing objectionable at all and easily overpowered by any fragrance or essential oil you want to add to it. Keep in mind, this soap is an opaque milky white. If you're looking for a translucent soap, they appear to have a few options available at the time of writing.Again, this appears to be a very nice melt and pour soap that I am happy to use in my crafts. Time will tell if it has any issues in terms of shelf life, but so far I have no complaints. Good stuff.

This soap base makes my skin feel super soft and doesn't seem to make my hands feel overly dry, even with the glycerin. It's super easy to use; just follow the directions and you're set. This soap base does hold scents really well and doesn't seem to distort the overall scent throw. Lathering is a little sub par for me but that's to be expected with a M&P base.
