I have GFCI's in my fish room. I got a shock one day and was perplexed how that could happen since I have GFCI plugs feeding all the rest of the plugs in the fish room. I asked an Electrician at work and he told me that GFCI's can pass the self test but still not work as they get older. I bought these to replace all my older ones to be safe. They have a light on them that tells you the protection is working. I like them so far.

With GFCI you want to buy a well-known brand. This one is and was a great price. However, the packaging was quite a bit damaged. Luckily, the outlets still looked like new and seem to work properly.

Units fit perfectly without having to squeeze everything together. The price was great but it increased on my second order. Still a good buy.

Some similar products seem to have unclear routines for initial activation. These were straight forward, but you do have to press down fairly hard on "reset" button; using the tip of something to press the button helps. If you are into cutting down on every little bit of ' always on' electricity use, these might not be for you, as the green LED stays on to show that it is operating correctly. But they are dim LED's, and I actually like that they are always on. I am using both sets of contacts, with a 2nd regular outlet protected by one of these, and the wiring was clear, and they function as they should.
