What phones work with Tello?
- Your phone needs to be VoLTE capable, unlocked, and free of contract

- Your phone needs to have, as minimum requirements LTE frequency bands 2, 4, 12 + VoLTE, and when talking about an ideal connection: bands 2, 4, 12, 66, 71 + VoLTE
How to activate your GSM SIM card?
1. Enter the activation code from the top left corner of the SIM Card.
2. Log in into your Tello account or create a new one.
3. Visit our shop or go to the “Bring your own phone” page and follow the instructions.
4. Once your service is activated you can start making calls, texting, or surfing the web.
5. Port in your number from your Tello account.
6. Enjoy your premium wireless service.

I have tried many different SIM cards for when family comes to visit in the US. The low price of this one sparked my interest. However, it is not worth it.Though we were able to get text and call to work, the data connection did not (even after all the troubleshooting). In the end, it was not worth my time - so we just left it as is (at least there was mobile calling and texting...).This morning, I got even more frustrated to see that the SIM card auto-reloaded. As they sneakily make you sign up for it.

The ordering through Amazon went the same as usual which is always smooth. I wanted to bring my existing phone into Tello and they gave a pretty good explanation for checking if it would work on Tello. There was zero explanation on installing the SIM card into the phone but I figured it out. The activation process was fairly smooth. Moving (called porting) my existing phone number over to the new company is not easy and I am not finished yet. Since my previous carrier was T-Mobile and Tello uses the T-Mobile tower network, my coverage is identical. Be sure to activate WiFi calling!
