This heavy duty gate spring has a nice weight to it. The black powder coat finish should stand up for years to all weather conditions. It’s spring strength is adjustable with moveable pins and comes with the tool to tighten it. I used to use the self closing hinges but they never last so I’ve switched to using these springs instead. I’ve already added other springs to 2 of my 4 gates and they work well so I’ve ordered this one for the same purpose. I have to wait for the snow melt before I will install it but I can tell it’s a heavy duty spring.

This spring was relatively easy to install and is pretty strong. I'm using it for a heavy wooden gate. The only issue is that the rod they give you to tension the spring is thinner than the hole you put it in, so it slips out somewhat easily, which could potentially hurt your fingers. Also, since the rod is thinner, it bends when you're trying to tension the spring. I do like that they give you two little stopper pins. This makes it a bit easier to tension the spring because if it slips, the spring doesn't completely release all the tension. Fortunately, this is something you just have to do once, anyway.

Nice heavy duty gate closer. The spring is strong and the entire assembly has a nice black finish. For about $9 it is a great value.

I like that this spring keeps my door closed so that it's not just left swung open. This is a 1:1 exact piece that I was looking for at the Home Depot, same size, without having to walk down the aisles and getting frustrated. Strong spring and resistant fromthe water. It's light to apply, but the coil is strong to resist weather. Screws are included.

I recently changed the latch on my back yard gate with a 2 sided handle so I can come and go as needed and still be able the get back in. So many times the gate is left open because it used to be able to only opened from the inside. I always had to be sure the dog was put in the house when I would have to leave the gate open. With the new latch, now I don't have to keep the gate open or put the dog in the house. Unfortunately, I'm so used to keeping the gate open, I now don't think about closing it behind me. With this heavy duty gate spring by SANKEYTEW I don't even have to think about it. The gate automatically closes behind me. What a great value this is for such a high quality spring. Adjustment of the spring tension is easy. I installed this gate spring, and it feels quite strong and durable. The steel construction gives it a sturdy feel, and the black coating helps with rust resistance. It was fairly easy to install, and the included instructions made the process straightforward. The adjustable tension feature is a nice touch, allowing me to set the closing speed to my preference. Thanks to other Vine reviews, I didn't have to deal with a broken adjustment bar. Went ahead and used a screwdriver. The spring works well. It closes smoothly and doesn't make noise.

the spring itself is very nice, very sturdy and good quality finish. solid metal. however it did not come with any hardware (screws, etc) so I had to use my own. I would like to recommend however they need to work on packaging because im guessing the screws fell out somewhere during transportation.
