I often use these muslin bags for things like dry hopping or making cider with ingredients like hibiscus. I thought I'd try these out with a batch of hop water (hop-flavored soda water), and they worked just fine. They appear to be of high quality -- I didn't notice any defects in the knitting or the seam at the bottom, and they held up at least for a ten minute boil. The knit is a little tighter than other bags I've used, but I don't expect it would affect the alpha acid extraction -- it's still a much bigger mesh than a hop spider, for example. I think the tight knit would also make it more useful for other tasks like cheesemaking or filtering hot sauces. For steeping grains, these things are pretty big and I expect could hold at least two or three pounds of grain easily. All around seems like a solid product.

These bags are junk. nowhere near the size advertised, extremely thin and easily ripped. I doubt they would support the weight of whatever you put in them once wet and are likely to make a huge mess if you try to brew anything in them.

This review is for the 28" size. These are basically the same material muslin bags you'll find at your local homebrew shop. I would say this is perfect for steeping large amounts of grain in an extract brew. They're probably oversized for most dry-hop situations unless you're using over 1lb of hops.I typically use these for fruit additions in secondary. These types of bags are easy to sanitize and you can tie them off with a string to easily remove them when necessary. For this size it works well for larger fruit additions or just to have enough slack to tie off for removal.Overall these are what you'd typically expect of a muslin bag. I would say pricewise, there's a minor savings here to buying individually. These were $12.99 for 15 when I bought them, typically I'd expect to pay about $1-1.50 each for them individually so you're saving a few bucks buying in bulk.

I use these bags for steeping grains for home brewing. They work like they should. They hold together well in boiling water under and, while I don’t do it, they could probably be reused.

I got these bags to use around the house. I've seen people use these to sprout grass seeds before planting them down. I am also using this to make homemade rice wine and other things. Many uses for these steeper bags. They are a large size too.
