12x12" was a bit too small for me to comfortably tape down 8.5x11" for cutting, so I appreciate this slightly larger mat. I like the color as well because after using for a while bits will come off and stick to the sides of my cuts. That's not so much a problem when they're light neutral colored versus a green mat.

It’s very sturdy, does not slide or move easily when you’re working on a project. I like that it has the measurements on outer edges so when you are working on a 12x12 paper you can easily see the measurements which is a plus.

I’ve had memory makers self healing mats forever and decided it was finally time to replace them (we’re talking 20+ years!) Ehen I ordered these I assumed they’d be the same, though slightly larger than what I’ve always had. Unfortunately the squares are 1/2” blocks instead of 1/4” so they aren’t as useful as my old ones. Overall the quality seems to still be as up to par as my old ones so I expect to have them for a very long time.
