I got this set to replace a smaller set I had that a couple bits broke. This set has been performing well, and it's great to have a solid case to keep everything organized. Very pleased.

In the past when drilling wood, I've always just used plain old drill bits. They work. But these things... With the sharp point sticking out above the fluting, is easy to line up and it goes through wood like it's nothing. I am not an experienced or good carpenter by any means at all, so I don't necessarily know how these stack up to the competition, but they were definitely an upgrade from my usual Harbor Freight drill bits. I am very happy to have them.The only word of caution I would give is that the tips are VERY sharp, and you kind of have to use your finger to pivot the plastic tray to get them out (the case is solid, by the way), and it feels a little dangerous. However, going slow and being careful I've not had any injuries.

These are excellent drill bits for woodworking. Each bit has a twin. They are quite sharp and drill through wood quickly. The provided case is heavy duty with a stiff latching attachment. I am quite pleased.

a) Arrived well packaged and complete. b) Great little see through case . c) these 13 bits are needle sharp on the tip ( great for centering the bit) . Glide through wood easily and I love that they are hex shank so you don't have to worry about the shank slipping in the drill head. d) While the price point is not super high, comparable sets are to be found for less... but not sure if they could stand up to the quality of this set. These are straight and true bits and I am confident they will last a while. e) Don't be a knucklehead and use these on stone, metal, synthetic surfaces, or even sheet rock. These are for WOOD only.

13PCS HSS Brad Point Wood Drill Bits Set for Carpenter Woodworking, 1/4" Hex Shank Black Gold for Hardwood, Plywood, Plastic 1/8"-1/2"I ordered this on December 5th, arrived on December 19th, little slow, via USPS, left in our mailbox, intact and undamaged.I have one small set of Brad Point wood drill bits and have wanted another one for a long time, so ordered these when I saw that they were available. The included plastic case is nice to protect the drill bits but the drill bits tend to fall out of the slots if the case is jostled around, which is inevitable. The drill bits are extremely sharp. I am not familiar with black gold coating so can’t comment on durability, is aesthetically appealing, description says it increases durability. I like that the shank is HEX so will reduce possibility of slippage but I don’t do a lot of woodwork, mostly small projects around the house and in our garden.I do appreciate sharp drill bits and will not use dull drill bits, do have dozens of same size common drill bits that I use all the time. Once used, then I collect them in a container then sharpen them once I’ve accumulated a dozen or so. I am not familiar with the VALYRIANTOOL brand, did jump on their web site to see what else they manufactured, seems like they are middle of the road priced, good for Homeowners that don’t want to break their pocketbook on super expensive drill bits. I did not that they do also sell SDS Plus rotary hammer drill bits, which I might consider since I do have an expensive SDS Plus drill.The suggested MSRP in my opinion is reasonable because it includes a more than decent drill bit case, with a really sharp set of brad point wood drill bits. I did test the smallest drill bit on a scrap piece of 2x4, using a small cordless Makita HEX screwdriver - it cut through the wood like a piece of butter, and I was using a small cordless screwdriver and not a drill. I am giving this a 5 Star rating.

I'm a graduate degree'd engineer who greatly appreciates well made tools and also the owner of a handyman business who uses his tools daily to earn a living. A major focus of my handyman business is carpentry, including custom carpentry of all sorts that I fabricate in my home shop. When working with wood brad point drill bits are quite a luxury compared to the more common/generic twist drill bits that work in wood, metal, etc ...I only recently received this VALYRIANTOOL set of brad point bits, but have used them enough to make some observations. As with all brad point bits the brad point makes drilling accurately positioned holes very easy. The bits cut very fast and *very* clean holes with very clean edges of the holes on the entry side and very little to zero blow-out on the backside of the hole. The set includes a 1/2" bit, which is sometimes skipped in other sets to save cost, but which I very much appreciate. The bits include hex fitting on the back for use with power screwdrivers or, in a pinch, an impact driver. The bits include a smooth, apparently well applied coating that should help keep corrosion at bay. A high point of this high quality set of drill bits is the equally high quality, well designed case. This case rocks! I have drill bit sets from Milwaukee, Makita, Dewalt and Ryobi that all came in dedicated cases and this case is my favorite by a long shot! The front of the case is clear, which is a help in identifying what's in the case, and that clear front swings open on a real metal hinge. The latch works very well and most importantly the bits are easy to remove from or insert into their assigned slot in the case. Oddly the branding on the case says "Drill Force"?! In any case (ha!) this case gets an A+ from me.Since I have only limited experience with these bits I can't comment on the durability, which is a major consideration. The item description says they're made of high speed steel (HSS), which is pretty standard for bits in this price range. Hopefully the heat treatment of that HSS material is up to the high standard set by the case and the bits will prove to be very durable.
