Wasn't able to get PLL lock after quite a number of hours trying everything I could think of. Swapped for an ADF4351 dev board and got lock and good RF output immediately with the same code (changed one value since the AD4351 dev board has a 25MHz oscillator instead of a 10MHz oscillator). Not sure what is wonky but the dodgy soldering on the back of the IC certainly doesn't help.

I spent hours with this board, poring over the datasheet for the ADF4350, calculating register values, and trying lots of different settings. I also grabbed Analog Devices' ADF435x software, which provides a GUI for configuring the registers, with sanity checks and error messages. Nothing worked -- it would always stabilize at one frequency, which was never the one I specified. Finally, in frustration I ordered one of the ADF4351 boards on Amazon from another listing. That one worked immediately, with a beautiful, stable signal. The differences between the ADF4350 and ADF4351 are relatively minor, unless you care about one of the key differences, and generally the *1 is just an improvement. Are all of the green ADF4350 boards bad? Does mine just have a bad chip? Don't know! But there are no schematics, no successful projects I can find on YouTube using this board, etc. Whereas the ADF4351s actually show up a bit around the Internet. For me, this board is just not worth it unless the manufacturer wants to step up and provide some guarantees and documentation. I imagine they work *sometimes*, but I wouldn't suggest taking the risk.
