I was expecting the android mounted headrest to come with at least some kind of battery so as soon as I turn off the motor it doesn’t just shut off. Normally a show or video never ends just in time as I’m parking, so the kids don’t like to watch the shows on the headrest mounted device because it shuts off without giving them a warning.The touch screen works like most tablets with multi-finger gestures. I use the cast feature to play videos from their tablets but they prefer watching them directly from their tablets. It’s a nice quality screen but kinda of pricey considering there is no battery included.

Fantastic product. I custom-fabricated my 2004 Ford Excursion's original overhead 6" LCD screen and enclosure, to accommodate this 13.5" Android 11 Head-rest monitor, which is effectively, just a tablet. It worked out beautifully, and since it had all of the modern connections that you'd want to use in a car, to connect audio and receive video, it made overall setup of our new audio-visual system a breeze. The video quality of the device is fantastic, a far, far cry from the original 6" garbage LCD that was in the vehicle. We couldn't be happier with this device.

The TV monitors were exactly as advertised

I thought that the screen was blooming too much when I first turned on this display. I think, though, it was probably related to overzealous increase in brightness on the part of the manufacturer prior to shipping. I was able to tone down some of that and the picture quality improved. It does come with some 4K files, which looked very nice. I guess in a car environment while on the road much of that will not be noticeable. The screen is very glossy so during the day in the back of a car, it may reflect too much.It comes with a number of applications installed. Of course you’ll find Netflix, Amazon, YouTube, Disney, and the ability to play Files. There is an SD slot as well as USB ports to allow you to attach memory. Video playback looked pretty good however sound was decidedly muddy. The speakers face rearward and I think that’s a big problem. Also bass content is very lacking. It does have audio out as well as Bluetooth.You can connect to Wi-Fi as well as a hotspot. There is an application that works when you are using the phone hotspot. This mirrors the display. You can also control the display from the phone. The one thing that I was not able to do was to get AirPlay working. There is an option to use AirPlay in the display menu. It does show up as one of the devices on the phone. However, no actual video or audio will come out of the display, even though it appears to be connected. That certainly, for many people would be an issue. I did not have any android phone to check on whether that works properly.You can connect power via a cigarette lighter. You can also plug into AC with the supplied power adapter. An HDMI cable is also supplied. I did connect a mini PC using the HDMI and it was able to use the display. However, switching to HDMI was constantly slow and was not very predictable. I will continue to use this display in the car because of its built-in applications and hotspot. I do hope that they are able to resolve the airplay issues and provide an update in the future. That would make this a very compelling backseat entertainment system.
