Was easy enough to replace the one that seized up. I was also able to spray garage door lube down the cable so it should last longer than OEM.

Blade brake cable problem finally resolved with a steel wrapping around the flimsy plastic bit that goes on the handle!

Purchased on Aug. 2023, the cable is broken in May 2024. The mower is for personal use, wasn't used for 5 months during this time, and stored inside. Pay a cheap price, get cheap parts that don't last, causing you more downtime.

The OEM original plastic wasn't strong enough and started to bend under the cable pressure. I countered this with some zip ties to hold it back. After awhile, I needed to replace the cable bc of the design flaw. Buy this replacement as it solves Toro's mistake! Easy install and definitely will last a long time if not rest of mowers lifetime.

This cable is significantly better than the OEM cable. The spring/hook at the belt pulley appears one gage larger than OEM and the operator handle end of the cable is wrapped in steel to make it much stronger than OEM. Super easy to install,,, but recommend watching a YouTube video for instructions. The cable needs to be rotated 90 degrees to install to the handle.

I did not find the top plastic as flimsy as some other have reported.However... I have had my Timemaster 3 years and this is the 2nd brake cable I've had to put on it. The OEM cable snapped in half after a year of service. I replaced it with the Huthbrother cable - which lasted about a year of service. It seized up and would not pull with the blade handle - which bent the top plastic piece. Now I'm on my 2nd Huthbrother cable. I've mowed with it about 10 times so far this season and it has been fine. I expect something to go wrong with it next mowing season - which is no different than OEM in my case.
