The handle/aesthetics are nice, but the craftsmanship is poor. The guides on the rod are not lined up straight.

Like the backbone and the large eyes but handle looks cheaply made and it needed about 4 to 6" more of tip and 4 more inches of handle for leverage.

While I haven’t actually fished with it yet, I have tested this rod with several baits of different sizes in a water tank to see how it performs while jigging. It seems to like 1/4, 3/8 , and 1/2 oz spoons and jigs best. I plan on using this on the ice for lake trout in deep water with swimbaits and spoons and I think it is perfectly suited for that. HOWEVER this is falsely labeled as the medium-heavy model when it is actually the medium model you will receive.

Just got it today. It definitely is not a MH but who cares. It’s a really nice looking pole. I’m not ice fishing but I’m going to be on a boat. Then, I’m going to drop my powerbait straight down so it’s kind of like ice fishing.

I bought it thinking it was a medium heavy, as stated in the description. It seems more medium to me. The reel seat is very comfy, the line guides are on straight and are huge, and the rod bends well throughout. I'd recommend it, but I will be on the lookout for an actual medium heavy
