Voltage setting method:

S1 over-voltage: charging stop voltage or load start voltage

At normal mode, press S1 button to show current over- voltage value.

Press and hold S1 button till display flashes, then adjust over-voltage value by pressing S1 and S2 button.

The video showcases the product in use.The video guides you through product setup. The video compares multiple products. The video shows the product being unpacked.

S2 under-voltage: charging start voltage or load stop voltage

At normal mode, press S2 button to show current under- voltage value.

Press and hold S2 button till display flashes, then adjust under-voltage value by pressing S1 and S2 button.

Product settings:

For example:

Take 12V battery for example.

Press S1 key until the digital tube flash to set the over-voltage is 14.4V. Press S2 key until the digital tube flash to set the under-voltage is 10.5V. When the battery is below 10.5V, the load should be disconnected after 6 seconds delay. If the battery voltage is restored to more than 10.5V in 6 seconds, the load will continue to work and the delay will be operated not properly due to the fluctuation of the battery voltage when the large current load is started. When the load is disconnected, the module is connected to the charger, and the load stops charging when the load is up to 14.4V.

Note: When the under-voltage value cannot be increased, adjust the over-voltage value first.

Connect battery first for the module is powered by the battery.

At normal electricity mode, Press and hold S1 and S2 button till the digital tube display 888, then the original factory settings is completed successfully.

This is well made, does what it says, but there is one con. That is that it is thirsty, the parasitic draw is 52 milamps. That is idle current that is very high for a device like this. I suspect that it the always ON LEDs. It is drawing 1.3 amp hours in a 24hr day, which is significant.I measured that number with a FLUKE meter, so I am sure it is accurate. They need to re-design and have the LEDs auto off after a few minutes, allowing the user to read settings after pushing the buttons then auto-off them.

I would definitely give it a 5 stars but unfortunately the voltage reading is off by a few. When tested, actual reading is at 12.8v but it displayed 12.5v-12.4v

Does not work if battery will go below 12v. I suspect that since the device uses a relay with a 12v coil, in conditions where this voltage cannot be met (say the battery discharges below 12v), the relay will not activate to switch on the charger input. It is a little misleading since it is possible to set the low voltage threshold (i.e. the voltage at which point the charger should engage) below 12v.Edit: Testing reveals low voltage threshold cannot be set lower than 10.8v in order to have the charger relay effectively energized. Product documentation does indicate operating voltage of between 10 and 60 volts, so it is still unclear why the under voltage threshold can be set lower than 10v.

I converted my kids power wheels to use Milwaukee drill batteries. I used this charge controller for under voltage protection on this project. It worked quite well keeping my kids from just completely draining the batteries and causing an issue. I don't use it for charging as I'm using lithium batteries and don't want them damaged. So I cannot comment on that aspect. Its a little cheap quality but has held up well for the last few months so I am pleasantly surprised. Will probably buy again if they continue to work well.
