Returned for 2 reasons: 1. Columns are slightly higher than the standard brio or hape columns and 2. They don't grip the tracks when placed on them to keep it sturdy.

Since my kids love building their wooden train tracks almost every day, I figured this would be a good birthday gift for our 3 year old. Our current sets only allow the tracks to go up one level. These supports can be stacked to create multiple levels. They stack easily, can be taken apart easily, and most importantly, they stay together well when assembled. So they work really well and that helps avoid creating 3yr old frustration. The only problem is that they are not compatible with all major brands. They fit with Brio and similar brands, but not Thomas. Since half of our tracks are Thomas, that limits how much we can actually do with these. The Thomas tracks are too wide to fit in the brackets.
