I recently built a scooter with another cannibalized scooter, a 90 volt treadmill motor, and a Honda hybrid 44.4 volt battery pack. I mounted a different companies PWM DC motor controller on her with zip ties so my thumb could manipulate the potentiometer. I calculated the gearing to what I hoped would give me about 17mph top speed - ended up with 14mph (clocked and verified). That original PWM motor controller worked great - I put about 30 miles on the scooter with zero issues. I ordered this Kooling Tech PWM with reverse for a 1953 Delta Homecraft lathe that I restored and am currently powering with a different 90v DC motor. I've been running her for about three years on AC through an SCR and a bridge rectifier, but I want to run her on the sweet sweet flavor of pure DC. I don't have time to reconfigure all the electrical on the lathe, and install this Kooling Tech right now – but I was jonezing to test this controller – So I zip tied her to the scooter. I'm HaPpY to Say the Kooling Tech works as well as the other controller that was on the scooter. I only charge that battery up to about 48v – so, the scooter motor is running at ½ power – so, I can't tell ya how this girl does at delivering high amps at 60 v – but she's a champ at 48v. I'm going to add more cells to my battery, or a voltage boost board and plan on doing the same to the lathe. I'll come back and let ya know how she handles the higher voltage. For now though I'm happy to know I have a second PWM motor controller that will handle relatively high amperage at 48 volt.Oh Yeah, reverse works great - but I'm too old to go backwards on a scooter.7 Super Novas for The Kooling Tech 12 – 60v PWModulated Motor Controller ~ Thanks for Reading – Have an Incredible Life! ~
