These work exactly as advertised. They produce a thick, rich, long lasting smoke. If left in the smoker, they burn for about 4 hours if filled completely with pellets. I start mine with a propane torch for fast, hassle free start times. Once a small section has produced red hot coals, blow out the flame. I lay mine horizontal during and after ignition. When finished, I dump the ash in a fire proof metal bucket. I haven't needed the brush that is provided but the hooks work great for storage and theoretically you could probably burn vertical but it might complicate or limit the burn surface area. This is my second set. I love the flavor that is produced so much that I thought I might try 4. These are ideal for cold smoke and probably your best bet for use with a pellet stove. Try cold-smoking cheese, or Roma tomatoes. You'll never go back. Very easy to clean. Good value for what you pay and my first set are still going strong from three years ago. These will improve the flavor of meat on a grill as well, just don't fill them up, I only use a small hansfull in each when I grill.

I like my Pitt Boss smoker, but it doesn't produce as much smoke as I like to use when cooking. These tubes are the perfect addition. It takes a few minutes to get tehmd burning, but once they are lit they last about 5 hours if the tubes are filled completely. Place them strategically on your smoker and get the added benefit of a lot of smoke! My Pitt Boss is an electric pellet grill.

I use this Pellet Smoker Tube in my Weber propane grill, and it has completely elevated my grilling. Initially, I tried wood chips, but they burned too quickly for slow smoking. Switching to wood pellets was a game-changer—the tube puts out rich, steady smoke that brings my ribs to a new level.Lighting it up is a breeze: I fill the tube, hold one end under my stove flame, and it’s ready to go on the grill. A torch or fire stick would work too, but the stove is just easier (though my wife isn’t a fan of indoor smoke). With the 3-2-1 method for ribs, I use two tubes that keep smoking for six hours without needing refills. Even when the ribs are wrapped, I let them burn out naturally. The product is both cheap and durable, and even after many uses, it’s still going strong. But at this price, replacing them is easy if ever needed. According to my son, my ribs now rival Virgil’s in NYC—some of the best on the East Coast. Highly recommend for any griller looking to add serious smoke flavor!

I have an old Weber Spirit gas grill, and this smoke tube gives me the ability to use it as a smoker. My first burn was for spatchcock chicken, cooked on indirect heat with one burner set as low as it could go, then turned to maximum for the last 10 degrees F to finish. The smoke tube lasted about 4 hours. The only difficulties were at the start and at the finish. It was hard trying to light it with a lighter (some people say to use a blowtorch, but I don't have one). After the flame burns for 5-10 minutes, you blow it out and it produces clean smoke. When the pellets were close to running out, they ignited inside the closed grill. If I didn't have a remote temperature probe, I would not have noticed the sudden temperature spike and burned or overcooked everything. The result was excellent. The smoke taste infused every bite of the chicken. It was a subtle hint, and wasn't overpowering. It also wasn't acrid.I'm happy with this purchase, and I look forward to many more burns to come.Additional thoughts (update):- I've now used this for over a dozen burns, and the problem with the pellets igniting at the end of the cook never repeated. I think it has to do with whether or not you tightly pack the pellets. That first time I followed the advice to leave some space at top. Since then, if the tube is tightly packed, it does not ignite and smokes to the end.- I originally bought this because I thought I'd need two smoke tubes for a heavy smoke flavor (since the gas grill had no smoke at all.) The second tube has gone completely unused. The product is so durable that I'm not sure if I'm ever going to use it. It may end up being a gift.- It's best to ignite the pellets with a blowtorch.
