Can't even put a shoelace thru them. very small not like the ad shows.

The small one doesn't. Not at all, don't waste money on the small ones.

I started with the medium size, and it worked for a couple of my shorts that had round draw strings. However, my shorts with drawstrings that look like a flat shoe lace would not lock. I assumed I needed the smaller size. So, I ordered the small size, and it still would not lock the cord in place. Disappointed.
