The outlet spacer works as advertised. However, I think the metal is a bit too soft. It would cave in if I tried to tighten up a bit. Otherwise, it's working fine and the installation was very straightforward and easy.

These shims are the right fix for outlets and switches that are mounted too deep or when the electrical box was installed at an angle. This poor mounting causes outlets to sink in and move when plugging cords into them. Poorly mounted switches that sit at an angle are an eye sore. All of the switches and outlets in my house are now firm and square. These wall plates, also called a C-Shim, provide a solid surface to mount outlets and switches. They are easy to install as and the electrical device only needs to be loosened, not removed.I keep several of these on hand to give to family and friends so they can see how easy it is to fix sunken outlets and crooked switches.

I used one of these plates to help with a light switch that did not want to sit flat and flush. The plate does work well, it is thin but plenty strong. It did require that I replace the switch cover with an oversized one but that is no big deal. These plates are a big help for those stubborn situations where you may not have enough support for outlets or switches.

These are very quick and easy to use to fix an off set receptacle or switch. Much simpler than using washers on each mount screw.
