I have an older 14" Craftsman electric chain saw that came with a couple of chains. Over the years I have been doing my best to get the most out of those chains but as they became duller and harder to cut with, I was in need of a way to sharpen them and recover the use of them I once had. The trick is having the right file and getting the right angles to put a nice edge on the m. This kit does that with ease. It comes with all the appropriate files but also the angle jig so you know exactly how to get the right edge ground back on. It's easy to use. Convenient to carry around and works on whatever saw you are happening to use. For me it was just what I was looking for.

This product is a collection of files and accessory tools used to properly sharpen chainsaw chains. This kit comes with six round files (sizes: 5/32", 3/16", 7/32", 1/8", 11/64", and 13/64") so that most of the commonly used chain sizes can be serviced. Included with the set of six round files is a six-inch flat file, a wooden file handle, and a depth gauge, all items needed for proper sharpening of the cutters and setting of the chain’s depth gauges. Also included with the set of sharpening tools is a steel bar groove cleaner tool, a polymer quick check gauge, and a canvas storage pouch with a hook & loop closure strap.The files in this kit are very well made, high quality, and quite hard. Currently, I can only put three of the round files to use in chain sharpening duties but that can always change. I very much appreciate that the canvas storage pouch was included with this set. It certainly helps to keep the tools in good condition, well organized, and all in one place. Lastly, the set is provided at a reasonable price.

Nice and complete kit for sharpening your chain in the field.Doesn't take up much space and has all the file sizes and gauges you'd need to keep your chain sharp.I've taken my chains in to the shop to have them sharpened in the past...and it always seems like they take so much metal off the chain that it shortens the life of the chain a good bit.I guess that they're in the business of selling chains...so it makes sense that they wouldn't worry about extending the life of the chains they were sharpening.It is so much more efficient to work with a sharp chain...and this tool kit is a good way to insure that you're working with a chain that's sharp.With a little practice, sharpening a chain is a learnable skill that will make harvesting fire wood a lot more enjoyable and less frustrating.

Worked well to sharpen up some chains for my Husq Rancher 450. Nice to have an assortment so i can sharpen other chins as well. I have smaller electric chainsaws for pruning that i'll be using it on when they need it. The bag is nice to keep it organized and in my chainsaw case. Its a good value over what i saw at my local hardware store.

I cut the files to fit in a variable speed drill. I hold my chains in an old chain bar in a vice and the drill sharpens my chains very quickly. The guide and files are doing a good job. I have to wait to see how well the files hold up.

This chainsaw sharpener looks awesome. It seems like it might really sharpen my blade correctly. Unfortunately I didn't get any instructions with it so I'm not sure how it works I'm going to try to find out online.
