Mine's been doing a good job for more than a year. I did burn out the pushbutton switch that controls it though. My fault I skipped installing a flyback diode across the solenoid. No doubt all the little micro arcs across thousands of button pushes wore out the switch prematurely. Don't do what Donny Don't Does... install a flyback diode!

I was a bit worried due to other reviews claiming that these reduced flow greatly, but ordered anyway given the price, and that I figured they were either using it backwards or for gravity fed use. It's for pressure systems, and it is directional.I needed this for the flush of my marine toilet. Flow is quite critical, and this shoots the same stream of water from my 3/8 tube as without it in line. The difference is that I can stat and stop it with a switch, which is exactly what I needed.I will trust what another reviewer said that the plunger is black rubber and not silicone, which is a shame. However using such a valve with sugar or anything other than water is a silly expectation. That said, I wish it were silicone since it would basically never wear out then.As of now, mine doesn't leak a drop, doesn't significantly restrict flow, and is normally closed and 3/8 push fit exactly as described. I'm very happy with it.

gets hot when used with 12V (duh... it's a coil). doesnt need all that voltage to hold open. this model uses the small plunger and pinhole design so it can open under pressure. leaks by a little when no pressure. took off a star since the sticker says 0Pa when it requires pressure to be closed w/o leak. this brand also has no inlet sand screen/filter...

Use the switch for the water bottle inside my water cooler and it work fine. Just have to make sure which way is the inlet by flowing the direction of the arrow on the bottom of the valve.
