Feature:

Advantages of ALTiN coating: Titanium aluminum nitride (AlTiN) - abrasion resistant coating for high-speed cutting, hardness 32 GPa; Thickness 1-4 microns; Friction coefficient 0.5; Thermal stability 600°C Titanium Aluminum nitride (AlTiN) is a coating with excellent hardness and high heat and oxidation resistance. The addition of aluminum results in a 100°C increase in the heat resistance of this composite PVD coating relative to the standard TiN coating. Titanium aluminum nitride (AlTiN) is commonly coated on high-speed cutting tools used on CNC machine tools to process more ductile materials under harsh cutting conditions.

Advantages of solid carbide: The high temperature carbide content in the whole cemented carbide exceeds that of high-speed steel, the hardness is high and the wear resistance is good. The overall red hardness of cemented carbide can reach 800-1000 degrees. The overall cutting speed of cemented carbide is 4-7 times higher than that of high-speed steel.

I used the 3/8" Carbide Chamfer Mill for a recent project, and it performed exceptionally well. This double-end, 4-flute solid carbide end mill with a 60-degree chamfer and AlTiN coating made precise and clean cuts on my metal and wood pieces. The 3/8" cutting diameter and 2-1/2" overall length were perfect for the chamfering tasks I needed. It provided smooth edges and a professional finish, making it an indispensable tool in my workshop.

I tested this cutter out on some 6061 aluminum in my hobby mill. I don't have the high RPM's and super rigid equipment to produce mirror-like finishes, but this little cutter did a pretty decent job with my setup. The aluminum is very telling with respect to surface finishes, and I found the results to be more than acceptable. The cutting edges are sharp to the touch. It comes in a handy plastic sleeve to protect it while not in use. Overall a good quality tool that does what it's supposed to. I have also tested a 1/2" carbide end mill and some collet blocks from this company and found all of their tools to perform very well.

This chamfer tool works well. I haven't used it on any really hard materials, but for the metals I have used it for it works very well and leaves a nice finish. If you don't have a good chamfer bit, this is a good choice.

I have found that having a chamfered mill (or two) in the drawer turns out to be useful more often than I would expect. This particular mill is big and beefy, cuts very well, and wears well. All the things you'd want in a chamfer mill. Based on my results so far, I am tempted to order a 90 degree version of the same thing.

I have only used this on mild steel but it worked great.

Seems to work well on aluminum, A2, and mild steel. It will chatter a bit if you try to chamfer a hole versus an edge, though.

This solid carbide chamfer bit works great for stainless steel and hardened steel.Regular HSS chamfer bits quickly get destroyed or simply don't work on stainless steel or hardened steel but no such issue with this solid carbide bit. This cuts hardened steel and stainless steel with no problem whatsoever.I should have got this much sooner.Highly recommend this if you need to chamfer screw holes on stainless steel or hardened steel.

I'm always a little cautious ordering machine tool related stuff; you can't always know what you'll actually receive. This is the real deal. Looking forward to making chips.
