I am just a hobby machinist in my garage. I have purchased top quality tooling at auction for a good price. I can feel the difference in a Kennametal, Seco or other to quality brand tool compared to these. That said they did the jobs I was needing them to do just fine. The only reason I am not giving these tools a 5 star is the insert. If you are going to use inserts spend the big money and buy the best you can afford. These tool holders did a fine job and did not cost $300.00 plus. Good value.

I have several carbide insert tools with rectangular, triangular, and diamond shaped inserts. This is my first experience with these 16ER-AG60 and 16IR-AG60 inserts and I find that they break easily compared to the other carbide insert types I have used. To be fair, yes carbide is brittle and the shape of the inserts is complex, including multiple intersecting sharp edges which will naturally be more fragile. Take my review with a grain of salt. Can't say for sure whether the brittleness is a problem with the quality or if it is just the nature of the geometry.

This set 12mm shank L and R threading tools are made brilliantly clean! Surface under insert and all around is just very smooth. Inserts are sitting firmly and I can't describe how HAPPY I AM!When you hold them in hand - you enjoy....Every cent worth!

Needed both of these for some external threading on the old lathe and they work quite well for Chinesium tools. I don’t thread terribly often, but when I have these have worked quite well.

1/2” and 12mm are two different things. 1212 tells me it’s 12mm. 1/2 should not be mentioned in order to be most accurate. Otherwise good price.
