Used it to cut on multiple types of material and it works great. Runs good for lathe. Cuts are sharp and smooth.

Nice addition to my lathe tool collection. The 6mm diameter(3mm radius) is just right for a good portion of the shaft turning that I do. Tried it out on aluminum, stainless and carbon steel and the results are pleasing.

I purchase several things on Amazon and was giving pretty in-depth reviews. From this point on, here's the new agenda…. if it works as advertised, is well made, meets or exceeds the description, is a value, and arrives in a fair amount of time, it will get a "star rating" equal to what my expectations were/are. If it doesn't meet these criteria, then I will most definitely and descriptively tell the short comings of the products and you as a consumer will not have to go through the trouble of buying the product without some background knowledge. If the sell pulls that item and relists under another description, I will put the exact same review on the seller's feedback page. Sellers have done this a couple of times in the past, and I was true to my word then as well as now. DR

Seems fine, but I searched for 5/8 cutters, and this was in the results. I should have been more diligent and read further. The holder is 5/8", the actual cutter is much smaller. I will keep it, but wanted others to be aware of the incorrect search result.

This button turning tool works well but you need a lathe with some rigidity to get the best from them. For the hobby lathe crowd, I would assume slow and shallow cuts are your friend. If you're lucky enough to have a larger, heavier industrial type machine, these will make a nice radius with minimal effort.I'm sure there is a big name tool brand selling these, but dollar for dollar, these little guys work great. This isn't a turning tool I need every day, but when I need it, these can't be beat.

Amazon Fail. It shipped the item in the plastic envelope. The item is heavy and sharp. So i got empty plastic envelope with the hole in it. I sorted it out with customer service however amazon should reconsider its package chaise for the item.
