I have just started using a gel plate for printing, and needed a baren to help smooth the paper over the paint. This one works really nice. It feels sturdy in hand and does a great job. The flat bottom is varnished and goes over the paper really smoothly. It also came with a cleaning cloth, so that's a nice bonus.

I do a fair amount of lino prints, and have been looking for a baren for a while. This did not disappoint. The only issue (pictured) is that the handle is reasonably narrow for people with large-ish hands. I don't have gigantic hands, but they're pretty large - and I can only really comfortably get 3 fingers around the handle.Otherwise, works great and seems to be very well made. If you have large hands, just be prepared - the handle is somewhat narrow.
