Exploring...

The advent of macro lens diopters has swept away one of the most challenging problems in image capture: how to shoot macro without a pile of special expensive gear. Now you can get down, dirty and close in the image capture business and make macro the digital way with a 100% success rate.

You're not alone when saying macro photography is an absorbing activity: to be able to reach in and record an image that is not easily visible to the naked eye is an attractive option. There is nothing more gratifying than to make a huge print of a a frog’s eye, a rock specimen or any small object that is normally so tiny to the naked eye and captured with the technique of macro photography.

In the old days of film, to shoot macro, aside from the requirement of using an SLR camera, you needed a few add-ons to take highly magnified images of extremely small subjects. You could begin by attaching a huge converter lens to the front of the existing standard lens … this would convey a degree of magnification. You could also install extension tubes between your normal lens and the camera body. You could also acquire a set of macro bellows and place them between lens and body; and finally, you could invest in an expensive, and optically superb, bayonet style macro lens dedicated solely to macro shooting.

These days, it’s done in a jiffy! With a digital camera and these macro lens diopters. Novices are surprised by how easy it is to capture really, big shots of tiny subjects. Some images taken by newbies have been noticed by Nature magazines. That’s how good they are!

In truth, you can make digital macro photography as basic or as complex as you wish it to be: even with a budget of 200 Dollars you can capture images of the tiny world before you, subjects as small as a matchbox, a match-head or even tinier. The higher-priced compact cameras can do it even better, some offering with a powerful zoom lens, so you can attach these macro lenses and stand back a bit.

True Macro

Digital Nc's advanced two-element achromatic macro lenses turn your video or photography lens into a true macro lens. They provide lenses with more close-up range and magnification, without compromising image quality. They are also designed to maintain a flat field and edge-to-edge sharpness without chromatic aberration or image degradation.

They provide dramatically shorter MOD (Minimum Object Distance). This is essential whenever it is necessary to focus tightly on a small subject with a long lens - in tabletop, miniature and flat field videography. For example, add this 10x diopter to a 14x lens with an MOD of 40", and bring it down to 2", filling the frame with a subject as small as 3/4" across.

Made to withstand the elements with a heavy duty chassis. The sturdy, long-lasting material is double bonded so it will hold up and keep your glass protected for years to come. Made with fade-resistant materials to retain its original crystal lens for years to come.

Don't expect this to be a flat lens, it isn't! It's a heavy, clear piece of glass. I screwed it onto my EOS 24-105 f4 lens and it was like my lens became a giant magnifying glass. It works great at getting stationary subjects, and you can get real close. Unfortunately we often want to photograph things that move. This lens would certainly not work well for that because you've got to literally be right on the subject to get into focus. No doubt indispensable for specific closeup stationary photography. Wish I'd have known that before spending this kind of money!

Lens cap cannot be applied with macro filter on due to the convex curve of the lens.I tried to use it on my D3300 40mm macro Nikon lens, didn't work. Based on the product description tho I suspected this. I believe it is meant for kit lenses, I've yet to test it on the 18-55mm.This macro filter is effective on my nikon Z5 kit lens 24-50mm. You do have to physically move back and forth to bring the POI into focus, the camera then will do the rest of the work.Definitely recommend!

Totally bamboozled. This thing is tiny. Maybe it would fit your camera phone but not a real camera. My daughter was very disappointed when this tiny thing was gifted to her. The box is the right size and then you get this tiny little lens. So frustrated. DO NOT BUY.

This lens worked extremely well on my Canon 28-135 mm lens on a Canon 50D camera. I used it to take pictures of 35mm negatives and 110 negatives and then used software to make positive photo images. A cheaper single element lens of the same power gave poor results due to blurring at the edges of the images. This lense with its dual elements fixed that problem completely. A great macro type adaption for this type of project and others.

I used this macro lens with my zeiss 55mm and 35mm lenses. Pictures are amazing.Do not mount this on a cheap low quality glass and expect good results. Mostly what you are seeing is magnified results of your poor quality lens.Use this with a zeiss or leica. It doesn't disappoint.Would give it 10 stars if i could.

Disappointed with the results I got with this adapter. The quality is good, good strong ring (very heavy) with well-made threads. Product claims anti-reflective coating but does not have that slightly blueish rainbow effect seen on other coated lenses - so?I found the adapter very difficult to use, being very difficult to get a sharp focus and having an extremely shallow depth of field. I also found the amount of magnification to be far less than claimed. Now, having said all that, my poor results may be more a factor of the camera I am using this on rather than on the adapter itself. I am using a Sony HX-400v bridge, or super-zoom, camera with a fixed 24-1200 (eq) lens with a very small 1/2.3 inch sensor. And only a small range at the wide end of the zoom is useable (within focal range).I've only used this a bit and perhaps working with it more I might be able to get better results. But with this camera, I don't expect much improvement. I can not recomend using this adapter by anyone using a camera with specs similar to mine. Manufacturer claims it works with any camera, it may, but just not very well with every camera.
