I use these to presprout garden seeds in a sterile environment. I place a folded paper napkin or paper towel into the petri with a coffee filter cut out to form a shallow "dish" on top. I soak the paper with a splash of boiling water to sterilize, then allow to cool. The seeds are then spaced in this filter paper dish which prevents the sprouts from rooting into the moist paper napkin. The sprouts are then planted into cell flats for 100% germination in the flats.

Packaging couldn't have been better - individually wrapped and snugly mounted in foam. Really like these dishes, feel pretty solid and steralized in preassure cooker with no problems.I'd imagine these are fine for most purposes - I'm using them for mycology and whereas I like the deep lip lids for storage, they can be a little fiddly to open/handle when working with cultures. That said - this is a really good price for glass, will deffo buy again when needed.

In two separate purchases, not a single plate was damaged. My box included a full foam insert with individual slots that the dishes nested in, with another layer of foam covering the top. Based on many of the other reviews I've read, I was nervous about buying from this seller, but it looks like they've been reading the comments. If I have any complaints about the plates themselves, I'm disappointed with the fit and finish. A few of the covers have sharp points, and the fit between the upper and lower plates leaves a lot to be desired. Most of them have a pretty sloppy fit, one or two in the whole set have a really nice, close fit. Otherwise, they've been very durable. As a price sensitive consumer, I know I'm not getting Pyrex lab plates, so the fit and finish is to be expected at this price point. Overall, when I need more plates, I'll very likely reorder from this vendor and would definitely recommend them to the home hobbyist.

Autoklavierbar und durchaus stabil. Die Verpackung beim Versand sollte sicherer gegen Beschädigung schützen. Eine der Schalen kam in Scherben, obwohl die eigentlich stabil sind.

Saw some reviews for various glass dishes complaining about packaging and shipping damage. None of that for me with this purchase. See picture. These came double boxed and inner box had each set securely held in a foam insert.Appear to be good quality and fit between lid and base if ideal for intended application, in my opinion.Very happy with purchase!Thumbs-up all the way!

Second time I've bought these, only one broken dish. Not enough to put up with the hassle of a return. Overall can't complain other than almost cutting myself as it was the first one I removed from the box, not realizing. A little more padding in the packaging would've likely remedied this.A good product, stands up to dry sterilization, trays/lids are generally well proportioned and largely free of defect. Would buy again if needed.

So I’ve ordered twice… 1st had 4 broken bottoms, 2nd had 3… won’t order again. Love the unbroken dishes but we are 15 for 20… just sayin🤷🏼♂️
