74LS47 is a BCD-7 segment digital tube decoder / driver. The function of 74LS47 is used to convert the BCD code into a number in a digital block. After decoding, the number can be directly converted into a digital tube display number, thereby simplifying the program.
This saves the IO overhead of the microcontroller. So it is a very good chip.

They are great. I wish they pins were a bit longer and thicker so they connect and seat in the breadboard tighter.

The output of this IC is not the output of a 7447 chip, but instead the output is inverted and is more like the 7448 chip. Used a common anode 7 segment display to test. Seems like the ICs were mislabeled.

All were corroded and none worked. Needed for a school project — really disappointed.

I don't know what this part actually is, but it is not a 74LS47. I can see that voltage changes to some pins cause changes to other pins in some weird way, so the parts are probably mismarked rather than being defective.
